The Green Bay Habitat ReStore
The Greater Green Bay Habitat ReStore was the 12th Habitat ReStore located in Wisconsin with each store benefiting its local community.
The ReStore works in partnership with Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity. It is a retail operation providing a valuable source of cash flow through the sale of donated building materials. The revenue supports the construction of Habitat for Humanity homes in Brown County.
The Habitat ReStore is located just off Hwy. 41 in Ashwaubenon at 2965 Ramada Way Suite B right next door to Woodworker's Depot.
Our goals are to:
How everyone benefits: Habitat for Humanity accepts donations of new and gently used building materials such as cabinets, doors, lumber, tools, lighting and windows. These items are sold to the general public at a fraction of retail prices. Savings for you that benefit the community!
Yes, you can help! The Habitat ReStore is an ambitious project, and we need the help of many people for it to be a success. You can help in many different ways.
In November 1983, Millard Fuller, founder of Habitat for Humanity International, was invited to speak to a small group of people at Union Congregational Church in Green Bay.
In November 1986, a committed group of people worked throughout the winter until October 1987 when Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity received its covenant from Habitat International and a Board of Directors was created. In June 1987 groundbreaking for the first home took place on Mather Street. By November the home was dedicated and ready for the first Habitat family in Green Bay.
Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with God and with people everywhere, from all walks of life, to develop communities with God's people in need by building and renovating houses so that there are decent houses in decent communities in which people can live and grow into all that God intended.
The purpose of Habitat for Humanity is to sponsor specific projects in habitats globally, by constructing modest but adequate housing, and to associate with other organizations functioning with purposes consistent with those of Habitat for Humanity.
